The FRS-app

Eén centrale plek voor leesopvolging

The Free Reading Standard (FRS) App gives your school a powerful, integrated platform to manage texts, track reading levels, and support students in a targeted, data-driven way. The app operates entirely within your school’s own Microsoft environment (Teams/365) and connects seamlessly with Microsoft Reading Progress.

With FRS, schools gain access to a flexible, smart, and scalable reading support system that puts both teachers and learners in control.

Upload and Analyze Your Own Texts

Teachers can easily upload their own reading materials and have the difficulty level analyzed using the FRS scale.
Each text receives a precise score (e.g., 2.4 or 6.8), making it simple to match materials to the appropriate student level — perfect for personalized reading instruction or differentiated assignments.
Once analyzed, texts can be immediately assigned for use in class or independent reading.

Level-Aligned Shared Library

Each school gains a centralized text library where all uploaded content is automatically stored and made available to colleagues.
Texts are tagged and searchable by both FRS level and AVI, as well as by topic and custom tags.
This encourages sharing between teachers and reduces repetitive work — when one teacher uploads a good text, everyone benefits.

AI Text Generator – Create Content on Demand

Using AI, the app can generate stories, articles, or informative texts tailored to any topic and any desired reading level.
You simply provide the topic and target level — the system creates a ready-to-use reading passage, complete with:

  • Summary

  • Comprehension questions

  • Tags for filtering and reuse

This feature is ideal for last-minute lesson planning, thematic units, or building differentiated reading paths in seconds.

School-Wide Dashboards & Class Comparisons

Leaders and reading coordinators can view reading progress across all classes they have access to.
Dashboards show current levels, historical comparisons across months or school years, and pre-reading vs. post-reading results.
Quickly identify struggling groups, track the impact of interventions, and discover which reading strategies work best at your school.

Class-Level Dashboards for Teachers

Each teacher can monitor their own class through a personalized dashboard:

  • See each student’s current and historical FRS level

  • Detect reading stagnation or growth

  • Group students by skill level or improvement trajectory

  • Spot who needs additional support — and who might benefit from more challenge

All data is visual, intuitive, and updated automatically through integration with Microsoft Reading Progress and manual input.
